The
description of a principle of operation |
|
To achieve automatism of actions in the conditions which resemble
to the greatest extent the tactical situation the employees of the
GERTS Ltd have created the new-generation system of shooting training.
-The multimedia shooting-gallery "Ingul" (further MGI).
On the exhibition CeBIT 2000 the pneumatic version of a shooting
gallery was demonstrated. directly on a bench of Ukraine all wishing
could do some shooting from pneumatic weapons by plastic beads.
more than 3000 outrigger booms in total are executed, that has shown
large concern of the visitors, also has confirmed high reliability
of a shooting gallery.

| While developing the MGI the latest achievements of the
talking pictures and computer cinema as well as multimedia computer
games were used, the experience and rules of fire-arms shooting in
the galleries were taken into accoount as well as wishes of militiamen,
military men, members of security and guarding organizations, the
latest achievements of computer soft and hardware, in particular of
high-sharpness digital television, were effected. |

the not laser simulator ? |

The known systems-imitators make use of a lazer ray, do not provide
circumstances which model real fire-arms shooting (recoil, sound,
peculiarities of action of different small arms, feed back with
the object of hitting, psycological influence on a rifleman himself(etc.)
and thus contribute to consolidation of the wrong shooting habits.
Unlike the abovementioned systems, firing in the MGI is done with
a standard tactical firearm on the real-size targets on the 2.5x5m
and more screen. The basis of the MGI is an electronic target which
is placed behind the screen and determines with high precision the
co-ordinates of the screen hitting after each shot. Thus, during
the shooting a rifleman becomes an actor of the film in which the
plot develops within the real time and changes instantaneously depending
on accuracy of shooting. The criminals fall down in case they are
hit or continue to act in case of missing. The quantity of possible
plots and versions of their development in unlimited. The coach
can simplify or complicate exercises.

and is stored into the database for all participants of fires. For

Prospects for the development |
| By the special booking the videofilms for fire are made
in a particular situation. By order, any videofilms for shooting in
a specific situation may be made. For example, capture of car steales,

any finished film or a plot shot by means of a standard videocamera

for shooting on immovable, periodically emerging and movable targets.
In this case the coach can change the quantity of target appearances,
duration of target location on the screen, target movement speed.
As targets both round standard and any other pictures can be used,
including those shot by means of a scanner or fragments of videofilms.
The result of each shot is reflected on the screen as a hitting point
mark seen from the firing line, also as quantity of points for each
shot and for the whole exercise in total. In our system all exercises
of a standard course of firing opening-up of Ukraine are realised.

The items of information on the implementators

The multimedia shooting gallery was built after the project of
S.F. Tsepa (master of technical sciences) and is exploited from
the biginning of October, 1998. In total for 1,5 months:
- the principle of operation of a multimedia shooting gallery
is struck out;
- are manufactured and three versions of targets for battle bullets
are tested;
- the technique of videoshootings and computer videomounting is
mastered;
- is acquired and the computer equipment is upgraded;
- the software for control of the map in real-time mode is designed;
- the programs cloning standard fixed targets and are designed
moving targets with automatic registration of outcome;
- is manufactured a battle shooting gallery.
The shooting gallery is exploited from a beginning of October, 1998.
After 2 year in a nem made more than 35000 of outrigger booms by
battle cartridges. Malfunctions and breakings is not marked.
